The consultation

What happens on the day

The assessment is a private conversation with a consultant psychiatrist, in person at 10 Harley Street or by secure video.

  • A conversation, not a test. We talk about your reasons for the procedure, your history and how you are feeling.
  • Short questionnaires. Validated screening tools such as the BDDQ, PHQ-9 and GAD-7.
  • Mental state examination. A standard part of any psychiatric assessment.
  • Time for your questions. You will know what happens next before you leave.
